Friends
I think Max has a new best friend. At Young Womens last week, he had the whole stage to sit down and eat his treat. Where did he sit? Right next to Katie.

In the morning, I'm making waffles!

Last week I was quite proud of my cooking. I made homemade Mac and Cheese one night, and homemade waffles the next. I'm pretty sure that was the first time in 20 years that I've whipped egg whites and folded them in to a batter without my mom's supervision. JB usually cooks dinner but I was feeling like I should take a turn.
But barely half of our family ate these dishes. JB was still full from a large lunch, Benny had a few bites, and Max turned up his nose. This is why I'm probably never going to start a cooking blog.
But I won't let it discourage me. Surely Emeril's kids sometimes complain about his cooking, right?
Bam!

Model Home

This is a picture from the latest Upper Case Living catalog. It's a skeleton, on my front door! One of our neighbors works for the company and thought our brick house and black door would be perfect to model their vinyl stick-on skeleton for Halloween. The shoot was several months ago and the full picture shows all the way down to his feet, with some pumpkins and a haystack they put on our porch to give it the full spooktacular flavor. They have cool stuff for inside, too.
I am now acting as my home's agent if any one else wants to book it for future shoots. Tyra, maybe we should talk about a show called America's Next Top Model House?

Jackets
I also love a good hoodie, as I have blogged before. I tried to take a picture of Max, Benny and me getting ready to play outside in the nippier air in our hoodies. I should have called for JB, as you can tell from the pictures below.

Two little monkeys
We have our boys' costumes for halloween. What is more fitting for my two climbing, funny, jumping, curious little boys than monkey costumes?

Benny's is a costume that JB wore when he was a little boy (his mom made it. She's so talented). Max's is from Old Navy. It's the largest size. I wouldn't be surprised if it's too short by Halloween.
When we got the costumes 2 weeks ago the boys wanted to wear them every day. This happened last year when they were both dragons. My excuse has been I don't want the costumes to get dirty or ripped, but they look so darn cute I'm allowing it more often.

Summer's way over
Now that it's October I have put away the shorts, and pulled out the boots. It's also time to finally put a few pictures on here from our August and September activities.

(I wonder what my family's Missouri neighbors would think about people paying to look at and feed animals. I think it's tons of fun.)
