July Richards reunion in Idaho

We had a Richards reunion on a ranch in Blaine County, Idaho, south of Sun Valley, July 10-15. This was John and Pauline's friends who invited us to use their property, which is a working ranch with many buildings and lots of places for children to play.

We got treated to a hayride tour of the property. The horses were named Mike and Max. So it was fun to think of our Max on his mission.

And the ranch employees taught the kids how to ride a horse.

Pauline also went for a ride.

And this guy got lassoed

This was the transportation between the houses on the ranch and Andrew really liked it. There was a big house were some stayed, and then two other smaller houses by the river.

Ben was able to sleep on the couch through a lot of noise.

Millie slept on a nest of blankets on the floor next to us.

We were at the pool every day. I'm putting all the pool pictures here over the several days.

Feats of strength by Ben!

Also this is probably one of my favorite photos of the vacation here with Papa playing in the dinosaur floatie. We had so much fun!

We ate great meals together.

We played games.

The cousins played lots of games together. I think this was Mafia.

Cousins just played and played.

Occasionally they just needed to rest and watch a movie.

Fishing also happened. Fun uncles brought supplies.

The town had their annual Pioneer Day festivities with a car show and parade on Saturday, July 12, and we had a lot of fun going to it all.

This Bronco was JB's favorite.

This was Ben's favorite.

And James's favorite.

And Millie's favorite.

We got good seats for the parade.

The county had most of their emergency vehicles come by and they threw out candy for our kids.

And the huge fire trucks sprayed the kids in the splash zone.

Here we are at the Carey Rodeo on Friday night, July 11.

We celebrated Millie Grace and Rachel's July birthdays together with everyone. Thank you to the Prestons for picking up the cakes!

The last night, we ate smash burgers, using the Blackstone grill outside by the "Fish House."

We took family photos together with a tripod and timer.

Here are the Richards siblings and parents.

Here are the Richards cousins (except Max and Emily on missions and the youngest, Alice, back home with a broken arm with her mom, Kristi) with their grandparents.

Here's everybody there.

And here we are.

JB and I took a selfie before loading up the minivan the next day. The fields and trees were very relaxing.
