Hot springs hike and Spring Break adventures

JB took James with him on a hike with Richards cousins to Fifth Water Hot Springs in Diamond Fork Canyon in Utah County on March 15. And it got snowy!

Spring break was the week before general conference, and I needed to be back at work on the Thursday before, so we went to the Richards cabin in Escalante after school on Friday March 28 and drove back Wednesday April 2.

One of the favorite parts of the cabin are playing games, like this giant chess set and puzzles at the table and a new game called Qwix.

On Saturday, March 29, JB took the boys on the "Cosmic Ashtray" hike in Garfield County.

Sunday, March 30, we went to church in Escalante.

That week JB also got out the BB gun for some target practice.

I love how long the kids play outside.

On Monday, April 1, we drove east then north on Highway 12 and took Burr Trail from Boulder to see Singing Canyon.

Then we kept going north to Torrey and Teasdale, where we saw the RV and glamping resort that our sister-in-law Collette and her sisters have worked so hard on by Capital Reef National Park. It's amazing.

We had homemade pizza at the cabin as well.

And we made Smores. I think Andrew had his shirt off to fan the fire to get it going.

When I was at work all day Thursday and Friday for general conference prep, JB treated the kids to some fun for their last two days of spring break, including a pizza taste test with Marco's Pizza and Little Caesars.

March school musical and outdoor play time

Andrew was in Hillside's production of The Lion King March 10-15 (and he had practices for months before!). He was in the ensemble, which came with a few costume changes, and his hair was at its longest and curliest for this show!

Ben's basketball team was invited to help the school dance team in one of the showcase numbers over several nights from March 13-15 and 17. Ben lifted and twirled and spun her with ease to "Grease Lightning."

We all took turns going because Andrew was also in the school play some of those nights. Ben bought flowers for his partner for the last night.

We got a good snowstorm in March.

We ate out Saturday, March 1, after James's last game.

James got to go to a Jr Jazz "good sport" celebration on March 20. Utah Jazz center Walker Kessler is in the middle.

High school tennis season began for Ben! Look at his reach at the net. This is March 11.

Here's a match against Skyline. All that snow in the mountains it was a chilly day!

Ben sometimes was partnered with Andrew Gardner.

Millie still loves pigtails. One day I was combing her hair and JB took a picture of her and she tried to frown to show she did not approve of "down hair."

Bigger smile at the end of a long day with her pigtail braids.

March had lots of backyard play as the spring warmed up. We had to walk around the block a few times to get to our backyard neighbor to retrieve balls that went over our back fence, and Andrew's sandal that he somehow flung over the fence when trying to flick James. Also Millie is in a nightgown here, I don't know why hahaha.

We went to the temple and dinner on March 8 with the Richards family and with our niece Emily as she prepared to serve her mission!

I took James and Andrew to the temple for baptisms on Wednesday, March 26. They did great and were reverent! By the way that chocolate ice cream dripped on James's shirt and took many washings to get out.

The last Friday of March was a "donuts with grownups" morning for the third graders. Here is Millie with some of the girls she begs for playdates with the most: Indie, Sylvie, and Claire.

Speaking of, here's a dress-up playdate with Claire in March.

Saturday morning shows.

A bike ride on a beautiful day on March 9.

And here are a couple pictures of Max this month!
