Per JB's request - more pictures from Arizona's horses

This is for all JB's siblings, and for our posterity. Hey, he asked me to post them. I think they are darling. Look at those red boots!

And here are some more to make you go, "Awwwww."

AZ trip

Last weekend, JB drove to Phoenix with his mom and dad to visit his brother Jeff and Melissa.  He was gone for four days.

They helped Jeff with a project.

Went out to eat at their favorite spots.

Wait for it...

Rode horses!

When 21-month-old Andrew saw the pictures he freaked out: "Ah! Horsh! Papa horsh!"

There are other pictures, too, of the ride at sunset that just make me smile. What a fun time.

Saturday night they all went to the Utah-Arizona State game. It was still 100 degrees even with the sun down. And it was a long drive back home to Salt Lake City after the loss. But I'm glad they were able to go and have an otherwise great trip.

JB's name is on the blog, too, so, fine, I will post the following picture of his boys all excited at the Utah Fan Fest.

The athletic trainers there even wrapped their wrists like a real football player.  They couldn't stop talking about how much fun they had.

Notice how they went to the event in normal clothes, and came back all decked out in Utah gear?  JB told me it was a long story.  I haven't heard it yet....

This was at the beginning of the football season, before that devastating loss my Cougs suffered to the Utes.

(I don't want to talk about it.)

But I will say JB and boys were very nice about the whole thing. And Max says he can cheer for both teams.  He's going to be a diplomat some day, I can feel it.

Dads and Kids

A couple weekends ago, our church had the annual Dads and Kids campout. This is when the menfolk take the kidfolk up to the mountains, and the womenfolk go out to eat/shop and go home to deep clean/watch chick flicks.

I kept Andrew home with me.  Three years ago when Benny was the same age as Andrew is now (20 or 21 months old) JB took Benny, but I'm glad Andrew didn't go, because there was a zip line that he's way too young for, and that the other boys wanted to go on over and over and over, and JB needed all his attention on them.

Max LOVED the zipline. He must have done it 10 or so times

Benny did it a couple times. Look at that sweet face.  JB said it wasn't too high. When they came home, they kept telling me they wished I could have gone on it, too.

Um, no. I still remember the last time I was on a zipline.  I may have cried a little.

I moustache you a question

Mom, can you build Legos with me?

Mom, can I puh-weeze have more Legos for my birthday? (even though I keep taking Max's new kits and taking them apart and hiding the pieces?)

Mom, when is it going to be my birthday (even though you keep trying to explain to me that December is still a few months away and after Halloween, football games and Thanksgiving)

Mom, when is it Halloween?

Mom, can I puh-weeze have some milk/fruit snacks/gum/candy/oatmeal/pancakes/waffles/frozen cookie?

Mom, can I play on your iPhone?

Daddy, can I play on your phone?

Where's my night-night?! (even though you remind me to keep my favoritest blankie ever in my bed)

Where are my shoes? (even though we have a shoe basket by the door)

Can I puh-weeze have a playdate?

Why can't I have a playdate?

Can I have a hug?

Anytime, sweetheart.

Now that the older boys are in school, it's just Andrew and daddy some mornings. Mornings where they can get errands done, like getting a haircut!

It started out ok....

But turned very sad....

Isn't that the saddest little face? And look at the car he is clutching in his hand that they gave him. It worked for like, a second.  But he's all trimmed now and cute.

A trip to the park afterward helped cheer up this 20-month-old.

Andrew is really so sweet, despite one good habit that's become a bad habit shall we say.

He loves to read. Loves to be read to. Loves books. Loves them so much he'll throw an all-out crying fit if you don't drop what you are doing and put him on your lap and read his favorite book to him.

"Eed?  EEEEDDDD???"

Last week, Saggy Baggy Elephant. This week, Cars.

But we try to remember he won't be this age long, and it will be hard to put a college student on our laps to read to him, right?

Benny's first day

My Benny boy is now in the 4 year old preschool class.  He's been waiting for his school to start for a while.  Yesterday morning, JB says he just marched right in! No fear, no nervousness.

I picked him up at noon and he bounced right over -- "Mommy, Mommy!" He'll go three days this year and I think he's going to love it. He found Legos there the first day.  And he's already bonding with his teacher.

In his prayers last night he said, "Thank you I could go to preschool today. Please bless Miss Jamie with all the hard work she has to do...."

Except he says "fank" for "thank" and "pwees bwess" instead of please bless. I like how he is still my little boy learning to talk, instead of growing up too fast.

Farewell, summer

August saw the end of baseball.

A tour of the Sweets candy factory with aunt Suzanne (it's a tasty tour).

A few trips to Lagoon with cousins -- look at that proud grandmother.

Look at this proud daddy, taking Max on Wicked.  Max thought it was so-so -- the bar hurt his tummy as they plummeted down, down, down.

And here's me after coming down a water slide!

Andrew knows exactly where to get warm after Lagoon-A Beach.

It sure seems like we did a lot.  But most of the summer we hid inside. It was hot! Man, it was hot inside that  U fieldhouse for baseball, too.  But the boys loved it, and improved so much over the weeks. And I'm so glad we were able to go to Lagoon a lot.  Thank you, thank you John Robert!
