Blessing Day

My sweetheart blessed our new little sweetheart in church yesterday. Andrew slept the whole time. Isn't he darling in his vintage outfit?

JB wore it when he was blessed in the '70s. Max and Benny wore it too. We take it off quickly to protect it from spit-up and explosive baby poop. Andrew was blessed yesterday because it was our ward's Fast Sunday, and we didn't think he would fit into the outfit in a month. He's a big 'un!

Airing of grievances

Bothers

  • Broken dryer

  • Broken plumbing

  • Baby won't take a binkie (he thinks I'm perfect for the job)

  • Benny won't poop on the potty without prayers, tears and pleadings

  • Bothersome clothes and hair (nothing fits right and my bangs are growing out)

Blessings

  • Baby is so cute

  • Benny is forgiving

  • Brand-new garage door slides up and down so easily!

  • JB can do it all -- cook, clean, repair, and rock Andrew to sleep.

6 weeks old

Here's Andrew working out a smile.

Then he got worried.

"How long has it been since I last ate?"

40 is the new 60

It was in the 40s on Monday and felt like Spring. I bundled up Andrew but the boys and I just needed jackets as we went for a walk around the neighborhood.

I had happy thoughts of brisk walks everyday outside this week under blue skies and sunshine. Then it snowed. I hate winter.

Best buds...most of the time

We know it's time to clip the baby's nails when there are scratches on his face. We know it's time to clip Benny's nails when there are scratches on Max's face.

How quickly play time can turn violent!

Anyone know how to get a 3-year-old to stop hitting? He spends so much time in time-out I'm going to embroider his name on that spot of the rug in the hallway.

How to know it's time for...

New feetsie jammies!

Here's a closeup of those piggies.

Almost there!

Benny's prize for learning to poop on the potty was a football helmet. That promise was made back in November.

After a while, we pleaded and begged with him to try pooping just ONCE on the potty, and then he could get the helmet.

Well, it finally happened.

We think.

It may have just been residue from the bedtime pull-up that dropped in the potty, but darn it if we didn't throw a huge praise party in the bathroom and bring the helmet down from the shelf for him. Max was jumping up and down shouting "Hurrah!" and "It's a miracle!" Now if we could get Benny to do it again....

Max wanted a picture in the bathroom too. This is his pirate gear he got at a classmate's birthday party. He loved being a pirate, until he was adjusting the elastic eye-patch and smacked himself in the eye. And there was great weeping and wailing in the land.

Busy Baby

Andrew/Drew/Drewster/Rockster/Rocky/Rockywell has a lot to do everyday. Sleeping, nursing, pooping....then all over again.

Here he is during awake time. He gave JB and me a fleeting, but big smile today! We keep trying to coax another one out of him. It lights up his whole face.

After awake time he's tuckered out again.

I look like I'm asleep in the picture. I was trying to look like I was gazing down upon him serenely.

I attempted church on Sunday. I thought just the hour of Sacrament Meeting wouldn't be too bad 3 weeks after having him. But JB is still assigned to another ward for his calling, so it was me and My Three Sons by myself. Andrew woke up near the end ready to nurse. I panicked but Heather, 2 rows up, came back and sat with Max and Benny so I could go out. I don't know how I'm going to do that again!

More photography

I think that one is Max's best work, don't you? Below is one of Benny's attempts at a picture on my phone.

Also, I apologize if you get any funky texts or emails. The boys know how to get to their apps, games and videos on my phone, but I think they sometimes push the wrong buttons.

Budding photographer

Max discovered the camera on my iphone. I discovered these pictures.

Pretty good so far. Then I saw 34 of his truck:

Big winner chicken dinner

JB brought me home some delicious Myers chicken the other day.

Why?

Because many moons ago he promised me a chicken dinner (my favorite in the whole world) when my spituation cleared up. That's when we thought it was just an annoying first trimester symptom. It finally went away the day I gave birth to Andrew! I am a new woman.

If you ever meet a pregnant lady with the same symptom, send them my way for some sympathy. I will buy the chicken.
